PELLETIZER CUTTING CHAMBER
The cutting chamber is a clam shell design that provides easy access to the roll and rotor. The lower half of the chamber is all Stainless Steel construction while the upper half is made from aluminum.

UPPER FEED ROLL
The Upper Feed Roll is a Stainless Steel shaft with Hypalon covering. This covering and the design of the roll configuration provide excellent pulling force on the strands without having to drive the upper feed roll. The Hypalon covering is forgiving enough to accommodate any discrepancy in strand diameter.
NOTE:  A driven Upper Feed Roll option is available.

ROTOR
The rotor design is a replaceable segment milling type with helix-angled cutting edges. The rotors are available in a variety of materials, Tool Steels, Stellite-Tipped Stainless Steel, and contamination-free carbide cutting edges.

BED KNIFES
The Bed Knife has four useable edges and is available in a variety of materials. Tool Steels, Stellite, Tungsten Carbide and Ceramic.

LOWER FEED ROLL
The lower feed roll is manufactured of Stainless steel with a serrated finish to provide positive strand pulling power. A change gear drives the roll from the main rotor drive. This gearing determines the pellet length.

ROTOR BEARING ASSEMBLY
The Rotor bearing assemblies are located outside the cutting chamber to ensure contamination-free operation. The dual roller bearings, internal clearances are set at the factory to provide minimal bearing deflection under radial load. Because of this, we can O.D. grind the rotor too less than .0005" T.I.R. This in turn allows you to set the cutting gap to .0005".

POSITIVE STRAND FEED
The design of the strand feed section ensures that all of the strands are fed into the rotor and cut into pellets. Because of the close tolerance between the side rail and the rotor, zippers, caterpillars and longs are eliminated.

TYPICAL CUTTING CHAMBER CROSS SECTION
The strand guide feed table and feed rolls are designed so that the strands partially wind around the lower feed roll. This design in combination with the offset upper feed roll provide exceptional pulling force on the strands at minimal air pressure. Due to the low air pressure required, the upper feed roll life is substantially extended.
